Simplified a technical AI automation platform into an approachable experience

AI automation platforms face a consistent positioning challenge. Existing tools either skew on the side of very technical for newcomers, enterprise focused for solo founders, or too playful for professional use cases. The visual storytelling often fails to simplify what these platforms actually do, leaving potential users confused about whether the tool is right for them. I wanted to explore how an automation platform could communicate value clearly across audiences, from solo founders building side projects to growing teams running complex workflows.
I designed Sequence as a concept project to practice simplifying technical products through clear messaging and intentional design. I created a homepage, industry template, integration gallery, and pricing page that balanced accessibility with credibility. Rather than relying on screenshots or abstract illustrations alone, I designed custom graphics that make complex automation concepts easier to understand by using workflow diagrams in bento grids that pair with clear copy. The focus was on highlighting integrations, showing real use cases, and positioning the platform for solo founders to growing teams without alienating either audience.
